Jordana Delgado has been my son’s piano teacher since 2021, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. What stands out the most is her incredible ability to adapt to different personalities, showing patience and understanding even when kids face challenges like struggling with rhythm or correcKng notes. She knows exactly how to handle those unexpected reactions with care and support.
Her strong background, having graduated from the prestigious Conservatori del Liceu of Barcelona, really shines through in both her teaching and her deep knowledge of music theory. She skillfully integrates theory lessons with the piano pieces my son is working on, making learning both relevant and engaging.
Jordana is fluent in Catalan, Spanish, and English, which has been a great advantage, especially when it comes to note naming (A, B, C vs. La, Si, Do)—it helps avoid confusion and ensures clear communication.
My son follows the Royal Conservatory Method, and I’ve had the pleasure of attending student recitals where Jordana’s students consistently deliver outstanding performances. I truly recommend her as a piano teacher—she’s passionate, dedicated, and knows how to bring out the best in her students.

I took piano technique and theory lessons from Jordana for several years, first in person and then remotely during COVID. Jordana was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic teacher for both the technique and theory lessons. I came into it knowing very little theory, so we covered everything from beginner-level chord structure, scales, rhythm, notation, etc. to more advanced modal interchange, jazz interpretation, reharmonizing, ear training, and other concepts. What I appreciated most was that Jordana was able to contextualize the theory she was teaching me within different musical styles and traditions, so it never felt like we were losing sight of the music within the music theory. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions, I am happy to expand on the above.

Jordana taught my daughter piano and cello. She is a highly effective teacher. Jordana has a wealth of musical knowledgable and, equally important, is that she created a wonderful rapport with my daughter. My daughter loved going to her lessons. But what makes Jordana stand apart from other teachers is that she not only is highly competent teaching technique and theory, but she has a wonderful sensibility about music and also taught the importance of appreciating its aesthetic and expressive dimensions.

Throughout the time that my son has studied with Jordana, I have witnessed firsthand the dedication and professionalism that she brings to each lesson. Jordana fosters a learning environment that is both nurturing and challenging, pushing students to achieve their best while ensuring they feel supported and inspired.

Jordana has an exceptional ability to communicate complex musical concepts in a way that is engaging and accessible for young learners. My son has grown tremendously under Jordana Delgado’s guidance, not only in terms of his technical skills but also in his understanding and appreciation of music as an art form. Jordana is always seeking new ways to enhance my son’s education, from selecting challenging pieces to introducing innovative teaching techniques.
What truly sets Jordana apart is her genuine passion for music and teaching. She has a natural ability to connect with students, bringing out her best and helping them build both confidence and discipline. It is clear that Jordana has a deep commitment to fostering a love of music and developing talented musicians.
I have been taking lessons with Jordana for over five years. I re-started piano lessons when I retired, having played piano long ago at school.
Jordana is really an excellent instructor! We finished the Grade 6 Etudes and Repertoire books at the end of last year – and now are commencing Grade 7 pieces.
In addition, Jordana has encouraged me to take-on `longer term’ projects, including a Beethoven sonata, and piano music by Bartok, Satie and Joplin.
In the area of music theory she has covered scales, harmonic arpeggios, and the structure of chords.
The student recitals she organizes from time to time in Vancouver are an important and very enjoyable part of her tuition.

Prior to starting lessons with Jordana, my children have taken piano lessons of and on through the community centres (Vancouver Parks Board) but we found that it was always a struggle to find good quality piano teachers there. Compared with past teachers we have seen, Jordana has excelled in engaging the children and providing an encouraging environment for them to learn music.

Jordana has taught my children using the Faber piano books for children. In addition to following the books she often finds interesting ways of engaging the students. For example through use of rhythm clapping exercises, fun improvisation exercises, and other games which make the lessons more approachable than simply following the books in the straightforward way that most other teachers have done.
During these past five months, Jordana has taught me many useful skills and tips that have significantly impacted not just my playing but also my understanding and appreciation of music theory. Under her tutelage, I have learned to play several challenging new pieces, developed independent playing between my hands (something I never thought I would get the hang of), mastered all the major scales and several minor ones, and developed a much clearer understanding of how music theory works.

Time and time again, I have noticed that Jordana is a patient and very thorough instructor who obviously cares about her students and wants to see them advance and achieve their goals.
Jordana has been my piano teacher for four years. With Jordana, my progress on the piano has been very positive in all respects. She is very patient, pleasant and professional. Jordana has excellent communication skills including a strong ability to explain new concepts clearly as well as answer all of my questions with confidence.
